Meet Your Bookkeeper
Hi, I’m Arlene — a qualified bookkeeper with a BSc in Management Accounting, Xero Payroll Advisor certified, and over 20 years of experience getting business owners’ books right, their BAS in on time, and their numbers making sense.
I started Clear Path during the pandemic because I kept seeing owners drowning in receipts and second-guessing their Xero numbers. They didn’t need more software — they needed someone who’d pick up the phone and fix things.
In one case, that meant auditing payroll for over 100 employees and recovering 2 years of unpaid super — the kind of problem most bookkeepers won’t touch.
So here’s what I do differently: I pick up the phone, I flag problems before they blow up, and I don’t disappear when things get busy. If your books are behind or your BAS stresses you out — I’m the person you call.
Your numbers matter — so I treat them that way.

The Cost Isn’t the Bookkeeping
The businesses that grow with confidence aren’t guessing — they know their numbers. Clear books aren’t a luxury. They’re how you run a business.
Common Questions
That’s okay. These are the questions we hear most often.
Many business owners start this way — until BAS deadlines, payroll errors, or missed deductions change the maths. Outsourcing often costs less than the time and mistakes it replaces.
We understand. Clear communication, reliable response times, and proper handover processes are at the core of how we work.
That’s exactly why people call us. Messy books are our starting point, not a barrier. We’ve seen it all, and we’ll sort it out without judgement.
We work primarily in Xero and are Xero Payroll Advisor certified. We can also assist with MYOB and other platforms where needed.
Bookkeepers handle day-to-day recording, reconciliation, payroll, and BAS. Accountants handle tax returns and strategy. Both have a role — and we work alongside your accountant.
The ATO requires businesses to keep most records for at least 5 years from the date you lodge the relevant tax return.
